Jean-Claude Van Damme For Six Bullets

guile210No he’s not facing a firing squad, Jean-Claude Van Damme has signed up for a new action thriller Six Bullets. JC did well to revitalise his career somewhat with the self-parodying JCVD in 2008 but he hasn’t really done anything of note since then – another sequel to Universal Soldier failed to ignite the box office and The Eagle Path which was filmed three years ago will finally appear on DVD in October. He also had a all-too brief cameo in Kung Fu Panda 2.

In Six Bullets Van Damme will play an ex-mercenary kidnapping expert hired by a martial arts fighter whose daughter has gone missing. Right…so far, so familiar – sort of a Taken/Commando vibe.

He’ll be working with Ernie Barabash with whom he collaborated on the forthcoming Assassination Games and it’s written by Chad and Evan Law who also wrote The Hit List.

Somehow, we don’t think this is really going to make Jean-Claude the talk of the town again. Why the bloody hell is he not trying to get in on The Expendables 2?
