Jeremy Kyle To Front New Gameshow

Not content airing the wrongs of our best and brightest on his ITV2 parade of wretchedness, Jeremy Kyle is to host a new show High Stakes, which will apparently be a game of “knowledge, risk and tensionâ€? with a £500,000 prize fund. Contestants will have to make six steps on a grid, while avoiding “trapâ€? numbers to win – so basically like a dumbed down version of snakes and ladders.

The Sun reports that the king of Special Brew drinkers is: “Hugely excited to be hosting this brand new quiz show. It’s a totally new format.â€? Let’s just hope there isn’t an element of gambling in this “totally new formatâ€?, actually, let’s hope there is, it would be great to see the definition of hypocrisy facing his demons on a daily basis. For those of you that don’t know, Jezza is a major gambling addict, “Gambling is the mistress that truly seduced me. I’ll never understand what a hit of heroin feels like, but gambling I get,â€? he said in a 2009 interview with The Sun. Yet he continues to berate the addicts that decide it’s a great idea to bear their souls on his chat show.

Speaking of his chat show, it’s now got an American counterpart, premiering in September and like everything American you can expect it to be bigger and brasher. Luckily it’s still being produced by ITV, so we get a look-in. If you like all-out excessiveness watch out for “Jezza in Americaâ€? – it probably won’t be called “Jezza in Americaâ€? – come September.
