Not content airing the wrongs of our best and brightest on his ITV2 parade of wretchedness, Jeremy Kyle is to host a new show High Stakes, which will apparently be a game of âknowledge, risk and tensionâ? with a £500,000 prize fund. Contestants will have to make six steps on a grid, while avoiding âtrapâ? numbers to win â so basically like a dumbed down version of snakes and ladders.
The Sun reports that the king of Special Brew drinkers is: âHugely excited to be hosting this brand new quiz show. It’s a totally new format.â? Letâs just hope there isnât an element of gambling in this âtotally new formatâ?, actually, letâs hope there is, it would be great to see the definition of hypocrisy facing his demons on a daily basis. For those of you that donât know, Jezza is a major gambling addict, âGambling is the mistress that truly seduced me. I’ll never understand what a hit of heroin feels like, but gambling I get,â? he said in a 2009 interview with The Sun. Yet he continues to berate the addicts that decide itâs a great idea to bear their souls on his chat show.
Speaking of his chat show, itâs now got an American counterpart, premiering in September and like everything American you can expect it to be bigger and brasher. Luckily itâs still being produced by ITV, so we get a look-in. If you like all-out excessiveness watch out for âJezza in Americaâ? â it probably wonât be called âJezza in Americaâ? â come September.
