Following his recent success in Moneyball, Jonah Hill will again work with Brad Pitt on another fact-based film called, well, True Story.
Hill will star alongside James Franco in the surreal story adapted from the memoirs of a New York Times journalist, Michael Finkel. Hill will play Finkel, a recently fired reporter who discovers that a captured murderer, Christian Longo (Franco), has been living under his identity when on the run.
Although Finkel’s career is apparently over, Longo announces that he is the only journalist he would talk to, in an effort to declare his innocence, and the two develop a bizarre relationship.
Pitt is producing the film with his production company, Plan B Entertainment, having won the rights from Paramount, and Rupert Goold is to direct.
