Welsh warbler, Katherine Jenkins, has signed up to take part in U.S. celebrity talent show, Dancing With the Stars.
Katherine tweeted yesterday: “Hope I can call on you for your support… Think I’m gonna need it!”
Piers Morgan was one of the first to offer his support, saying â@piersmorgan: Congrats to @KathJenkins on the @DancingABC gig – if you need some tips, you know where I am… #MagicFeetMorgan”
Even with the support of âMagic Feet Morganâ?, the opera singer will have to fend off eleven other foxtrotting famous faces if she is to take the title.
Tennis legend Martina Navratilova and Motown great Gladys Knight are two of her best known competitors.
Melissa Gilbert, of Little House on The Prairie fame, and Jack Wagner (Melrose Place) will also be taking to the dancefloor when the show launches in March.
The View co-host Sherri Shepherd, Jaleel White (Family Matters), TV host Maria Menounos, Disney star Roshon Fegan, NFL champion Donald Driver, singer Gavin DeGraw and Telenovela actor William Levy complete the line-up.
The contestants have already met their professional partners and will begin their hardcore training in earnest tomorrow.
Katherine took to Twitter this morning, telling of her pre-training woes: “So now I have a spare day to prepare myself for DWTS & for my first day of training with @MarkBallas #anyoneknowagoodfootmasseuse”
Katherine’s spokesman said: “She’s very excited to be taking part.”
The 14th series of Dancing with the Stars will start on March 19.
