Pop star Katy Perry has said that she’d love the chance to play Mary Poppins if the film were to be remade.
“I can’t deny that I used to grab an umbrella and think, ‘I could take off with the right winds’ as a kid,” she said, speaking to The Mirror.
“I think I could play her if they remade it, Russell could play Bert. He’d have less trouble with the accent than me.”
The idea of Perry and Brand playing Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke’s iconic roles makes us tremble with fear that Hollywood would even consider a remake. Meanwhile, Perry is set to feature in The Smurfs this summer, as she voices the character of Smurfette.
