Keanu Reeves has finally got the green light for his project A Man Of Tai Chi, which will be shot in China as a joint production between Village Roadshow Asia, China Film Group, Wanda Media and Universal.
Reeves will direct and co-star in the movie alongside Tiger Chen who was part of the behind the scenes Kung Fu team that worked on The Matrix. There’s not much in the way of plot details other than according to The Hollywood Reporter it will see a “young martial artist whose fighting skills brings him to a realm of vast opportunities, and painful choices”. Reeves has stated that he’d like to play the villain but there’s no confirmation as yet.
He’ll begin shooting in February. Before that we’ll see him in 47 Ronin (which incidentally I was going to be in as martial arts extra once upon a time) which will be out at the end of next year.
