Another year, another Two and A Half Men star topping the rankings. After Charlie Sheen, who topped the list of highest paid TV actors last year with earnings of $40m (£24.9m), his successor in the popular US comedy, Ashton Kutcher, has succeeded him as TV’s highest earner.
With an estimated income of $24m (£15m) between May 2011 and 2012, he beat joint second place earners Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Hugh Laurie who both brought in $18m (£11.2m) last year according to Forbes Magazine.
This is likely the last year at the top of the money making tree for the former Blackadder star, whose popular medical drama House finished its eight year run in May.
Rounding out the top five are Alec Baldwin, who as Jack Donaghy on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock was paid $15m (£9.3m); he was closely followed by NCIS actor Mark Harmon and funnyman Tim Allen a worthy fifth with an income of $14m (£8.7m).
