Kutcher’s Two And A Half Men Debut Gets Record Ratings

After all the tigerblood, winning and torpedos of truth, life without Charlie Sheen began last night for CBS’s hit sitcom Two And A Half Men.

After apologising to show boss Chuck Lorre, Sheen himself watched the season nine premiere – which included his on-screen funeral – and tweeted that there were “lots of laughs so far”.

He certainly wasn’t the only person tuning in as overnight figures show that 27.7 million Americans watched Ashton Kutcher make his debut as Sheen’s replacement. Demi’s hubby plays billionaire Walden Schmidt, who decides to buy the Harper house after a half-baked suicide attempt.

However Monday’s “Men” outing wasn’t just the best-rated in the sitcom’s history. It was also the highest-rated season premiere for a scripted series since Desperate Housewives premiered six years ago, according to Entertainment Weekly..

Two And Half Men series 9 continues on Comedy Central on Monday 10th October at 9pm
