With Strictly Come Dancing returning to our screens next month, the internet is typically abound with rumours about which celebrities are set to grace the dance floor as the show enters its ninth series.
In classic Strictly fashion, it’s the usual mix of talent and obscurity, with both Holly Valance and John Prescott said to have been approached by show executives.
But whilst the ex Neighbours star is reportedly keen to get involved, unfortunately the same cannot be said the for the larger than life politician, who obviously does not want to be known forever more as the Lord of the Dance anytime soon.
Few will forget fellow politician Ann Widdecombe’s time on the show, with the former MP’s dance renditions loved by the public but despised by the judges.
Other rumours for this year include Edwina Currie, Nancy Dell’Olio, Jason Donovan, football pundit Robbie Savage and 80s TV icon Russell Grant. One Show host Alex Jones is also in the frame, apparently sealing a deal worth £150,000 to appear on both the daily entertainment show and Strictly Come Dancing.
Fronted again by Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly, Strictly returns to our screens on 11th September, with Siberian Pasha Kovalev lined up as a new addition to the team of pro-dancers.
