Lindsay Lohan seems to be playing a game of Hollywood hokey cokey. First she was up for a role in the the forthcoming John Gotti biopic, Gotti: Three Generations. Then she got kicked out. And now she’s back in.
At a press conference on April 12, producers of the forthcoming mobster film confirmed that Lohan was indeed in talks to star in the movie and it was believed to have been offered the role of Gotti’s daughter, Victoria Gotti.
But today it was announced that Lohan did not have the role after all. “We are not talking any further about Lindsay playing Victoria,” said producer Marc Fiore in a statement. “She is no longer being considered. The talks have stopped. We are going to meet with other people”
But shaking it all about this afternoon, a further statement announced that Lohan was back in the movie but playing a different character, that of Kim Gotti, John Gotti’s wife.
“I’m really excited to be back on set and clear up all the misinterpretations about me and show this is what I love to do,” Lohan said.
Producer Marc Fiore backed that up with another statement, “We’re very pleased to have Lindsay on-board. She has been very enthusiastic about the Gotti project, and after resuming discussions with her, we were impressed by her commitment to the film and felt she would be the perfect Kim Gotti.”
John Travolta will play John Gotti, and Joe Pesci will play caporegime Angelo Ruggiero. Filming begins this autumn with a projected 2013 release date.
