Louis Spence To Replace Jason Gardiner On Dancing On Ice Panel

As one bunch of uncoordinated ‘slebs shimmy out of the BBC’s ballroom, another load will be shuffling on to ITV’s ice rink.

Dancing on Ice will be returning to our screens in January but possibly without key panel members Jason Gardiner and Emma Bunton. News has emerged this morning that exuberant Pineapple Dance nutcase, Louis Spence, could be replacing one of the aforementioned judges. Leaving us with the question.. Who will play bad cop on the panel this year? Every show like this needs a harsh judge (Revel Horwood, Cowell etc) and we can’t see Spence fitting the bill.

A source revealed: “This year’s judging line-up is being taken to the wire. Producers want to refresh things and Jason and Emma look the most vulnerable. The show has been running for several years and like all ITV shows they are overhauled occasionally to keep viewers interested.”

Neither Emma or Jason have had their contract renewed yet – things are looking ropey. Perhaps this is all just rumour and bluster, surely ITV will be standing by the pair who have served seven years between them.

An ITV spokesman said: “We have not yet announced the judging panel for the 2012 series.”

Time to scrub up the CV, guys.

Axed Daybreak presented, Christine Bleakley, has already stepped in to replace Holly Willoughby who resigned earlier this year. Acts already confirmed are ex-glamour model Jennifer Ellison, Sugababe Heidi Range, actress and designer Sadie Frost, top ski racer Chemmy Alcott and EastEnders actress Laila Morse.

Some promising names…but will the presenting shake-up seal the fate of this skating show?
