Louis Walsh has bitten back at Cheryl Cole after she accused the X Factor veteran of being a money-grabbing layabout.
Speaking in a Marie Claire interview, the Fight For This Love singer accused Walsh of âtaking the cheques” for Girls Aloud whilst having âzero involvementâ? in managing the band.
The girl group rose to fame after taking part in Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, with Louis as group mentor.
Walsh has now told the Daily Mirror that the comments may signal the end of their âfriendshipâ?. He added: “I’ve no idea why she’s made these comments but, in my eyes, it says a lot about her.
“I was always the first to defend her on The X Factor, and always watched her back.
“I won’t stand for anyone criticising me professionally and if I was in London right now I’d give her a piece of my mind.”
The Geordie star had said: “We never had management. Louis claimed to be our manager but he never did it.
“We didn’t talk to him or anything like that. He just took a cheque.
“Now I talk to him because I get that business is business and that’s how he runs his – but he never chose a hit. Who chose them? Us.”
Cue Cheryl’s return to The X Factor UK and endless build-up about the judges’ “ON AND OFF SCREEN RIVALRY” (to be read in booming X-Factor voice-over).
