Mad Men Wins Outstanding Drama Emmy. Again.

The cast and crew of Mad Men have yet another trophy to squeeze onto their collective mantelpiece, it should very nicely right in between the bottle of Scotch and packet of Lucky Strikes.

The hugely successful US TV series, set in the 1960s New York advertising world, took home the Best Drama series award at last night’s Emmys. For the fourth consecutive year running.

The curvaceous Christina Hendricks gained recognition for her outifit on the night as she wowed the crowds in the usual fashion, sparkling her way down the red carpet in a jewel encrusted silver gown with a seriously plunging neckline.

The rest of the cast, however, missed out. Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss who play Don Draper and Peggy Olson in the award winning series, were beaten to the top spots for best actor and best actress in a drama by Juliann Margulies (The Good Wife) and surprise winner Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights).

It was a successful night for the Brits as well with Downton Abbey scooping four major awards including best supporting actress for national treasure, Maggie Smith.

Kate Winslet also managed to accept her award for best actress in a mini-series or movie, without bursting into floods of tears. Well done Kate.
