Marshall And Depp To Remake ‘The Thin Man’

Rob Marshall 300Johnny Depp has signed on for Rob Marshall’s remake of The Thin Man.

Marshall directed forthcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which starred Depp and is pleased that they’ll be working together again.

“John and I are overjoyed at the idea of working with Johnny again, especially on such a classy and classic project,” he said.

“We are thrilled to be partnering this time with such wonderful producers and Christi Dembroski and Kevin McCormick, and we are looking forward to working with Warner Bros. to create a reinvention of a beloved story.”

The Thin Man was a 1934 detective film, based on a novel by Dashiell Hammett, about a married couple who solve crimes and indulge in witty banter together. It was nominated for the Best Picture Oscar and starred William Powell and Myrna Loy.
