McGuinness and Jackson Sent to Arctic Circle

Paddy McGuinness and Charlotte Jackson have been announced as the new presenting team for the second series of ITV’s 71 Degrees North, previously hosted by Gethin Jones and Kate Thornton.

Having joined the ITV family by presenting the popular Take Me Out on the Saturday night slot and managing to charm the nation, McGuinness has been sent to the icy plains with Sky Sports presenter Charlotte Jackson, a name viewers may recognise from the infamous Richard Keys and Andy Gray sexism scandal.

It may be very well with them getting a new presenting job, but let’s not forget that they are going to the Arctic Circle, a fact McGuinness hasn’t skipped over; “Ant ‘n’ Dec get to spend time in sunny Australia, Dermot O’Leary fronts the biggest show on television and Phil (Schofield) and Holly (Willoughby) enjoy a lovely day-time gig by the Thames. What do I get? A month in the Arctic Circle! Let the frost… see the bite!â€?

Day One of filming began today, with a twit from Jackson stating, “Day one of filming 71 Degrees North – early start and never put so many layers on- ! Very excited though!” she continued, “myself and Paddy Mcguiness will be meeting the 10 celebs today!”

It certainly beats out being locked in that chamber of judgemental harpies from Take Me Out every Saturday night.

Nicely played Paddy.
