Michael Mann For The Big Stone Grid

Michael Mann’s about to get back on the movie directing wagon after finishing up the pilot of HBO’s equine drama Luck.  First up for consderation is The Big Stone Grid which Craig S Zahler has written for Sony and follows two decorated detectives who uncover a far-ranging extortion ring that operates in the underbelly of New York City.

Apparently, it’ll be in the ton of Se7en and Marathon Man with Mann working with Zahler to make any changes.  Mann’s a good fit for the material as he was behind such crime thrillers as Heat and Collateral.  Let’s hope he can pull his socks up after the disappointment that was Public Enemies.

In the mean time Mann will be considering Go Like Hell, the true story of the rivlary between Ferrari and Ford in the 1960s.
