Michelle Pfeiffer Joins Dark Shadows

michelle210The cast of Tim Burton’s adaptation of the cult classic TV series Dark Shadows is really starting to flesh out now. Heat Vision Blog reports that his latest addition is Michelle Pfeiffer who is in negotions to play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the matriarch of the family who has been a recluse since her husband vanished 10 years ago.

It’ll mark the first time the pair have worked together since Pfeiffer was sewn into a catsuit for the her memorable role as Catwoman in Batman Returns.

In other, not entirely suprising news, Deadline reports that Helena Bonham Carter is also considering a role as Dr Julia Hoffman, a specialist in both psychology and rare blood diseases (we note that HBC is also an abbreviation for Hepatitis B – go figure), who moves into the family home and starts off as a potential enemy for vampire Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) but eventually tries to help him overcome his bloodlust.

Burton and HBC working together again – shocker.

Along with Depp, other cast members include Eva Green, Jackie Earle Hayley and Bella Heathcote. Shooting begins in April.
