Mickey Rourke Bails On Seven Psychopaths

All the way back in 2008, director Martin McDonagh discussed his long-awaited follow up to In Bruges. That film, titled Seven Psychopaths, finally seemed ready to begin shooting until one of its stars jumped ship.

McDonagh said that Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken and Mickey Rourke were all going to appear, but it seems Rourke has changed his mind. While out promoting his new movie Immortals, he told Moviefone that “the director was a jerkoff. He wanted a whole lot for nothing.” When asked to confirm that he has bailed on McDonagh’s project, Rourke replied “He can go play with himself.”

Seven Psychopaths tells the story of a screenwriter (Farrell) who gets caught up in his friends’ (Rockwell and Walken) plot to kidnap a gangster’s dog.

Filming can start once McDonagh finds a replacement for Rourke.
