After a shock win at the BAFTAs over the weekend, Brendan O’Carroll’s popular sitcom Mrs Brown’s Boys (if ever you need proof that ‘comedy’ is subjective, look no further) could be getting the big screen treatment.
“I haven’t written it yet,” the comic told The Sun this week when asked about a potential film. “That’s what success does, they give you money and say ‘Whatever you think’. So I’ve taken the money!”
The comedy beat off competition from Fresh Meat, Friday Night Dinner and Rev to win the ‘Best Situation Comedy’ Award at Sunday’s TV bash.
A third series of the show – which started its life as an Irish radio show – is due on BBC1 before the new year.
