Simon Cowell’s hunt for the next Cheryl Cole on the UK X Factor continues after bosses ruled out N-Dubz star Tulisa for swearing too much.
The singer and female contingent of the unfathomably successful N-Dubz did a one-hour screen test to replace the departing Cheryl Cole, but producers were stunned by her uncontrollable foul language.
A source reportedly told the Daily Star: “Tulisa did do a one-hour audition but was turned down because she couldn’t stop swearing.
“It was all the time and bosses became worried about putting her on live TV in front of millions of viewers, including children.
“If she ended up cursing or making a rude comment live on the show, the programme would get into serious trouble.”
X Factor producers are looking for a female singer with a strong personality to attract younger fans, with Alesha Dixon’s name also in the frame, as her experience as judge on Strictly Come Dancing makes her an ideal candidate.
Simon Cowell said there would be announcements about the US X Factor on Friday. Hopefully Cheryl will be announced as judge so this long-running saga will come to an end.
