No Desperate Housewives Movie

These days it seems the leap from television into film is sometimes inevitable. However the creator of Desperate Housewives, Mark Cherry, says the stars of his show will NOT be following in the glamorous footsteps of the Sex and the City women.

It appears after its eighth and final series, the melodrama will sadly be disappearing from our screens for good with no hopes of a reunion. Quashing any rumours of a return via film or TV spin-offs, Cherry said: “Boy, after eight years, I think we’re done.”

He also went on to criticise the incredibly misguided decision that was Sex and the City 2, saying: “They hadn’t really plumbed the depth of those characters. I’m just never sending these gals to Dubai, that’s all I’m saying.â€?

The concluding storylines of Desperate Housewives remain a closely guarded secret, but with the knowledge that the final curtain call will see an ending which Cherry admits has been in his head had “for the last seven and a half yearsâ€?, viewers will no doubt be hooked to the very end.
