The creators of hit series Happy Valley and Last Tango In Halifax today announced an exciting ensemble cast for new drama series, Ordinary Lies from BAFTA and Emmy award-winning writer, Danny Brocklehurst (Accused, Shameless) to be seen on BBC One in 2015.

The cast including Max Beesley (Mad Dogs), Michelle Keegan (Coronation Street), Jason Manford (Little Crackers), Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean), Jo Joyner (EastEnders), Rebecca Callard (Glue), Sally Lindsay (Mount Pleasant), Belinda Stewart-Wright (The Inbetweeners), Shazad Latif (Spooks), Shaun Dooley (Misfits) and Fisayo Akinade (Cucumber) will star in this thrilling and darkly humorous drama about how a simple lie can spiral out of control and change your life forever.

We all tell little white lies everyday be it for self-protection, success or for love. But what happens when a spur-of-the-moment mistruth snowballs out of hand – is it possible get away with it or will the lie inevitably come undone to devastating effect?

Set on the shopfloor and in the offices of a motor showroom – Ordinary Lies tells the story of how desperation can lead to drastic solutions, even in the most everyday of workplaces. Following an ordinary group of colleagues and friends, the witty drama reveals the extraordinary, gradual unravelling of each individual’s torrid lies and secrets which, on occasion, lead to life-shattering consequences.

As the series progresses, the tangled web of tall tales result in revelations, shocks and stunning confessions revealing some difficult dilemmas that the characters must face up to. Does this team that see each other every day, really know each other at all?
