Over 26 Million tune in for the “lousy” 53rd Grammy’s

Over 26 million people tuned in to watch the Grammy’s 53rd annual music awards ceremony, or what some are now refering to as ‘the hatching of Lady Gaga’ on Sunday night.

The statistic, which was officially announced as 26.66 million viewers – was there a 0.66 of a person watching? – gave the Grammy’s its largest audience in 11 years and were up at around 3% from last year’s figure of 25.87m says broadcaster CBS.

Despite Lady Gaga stealing the limelight as usual with her egg fiasco, other memorable performances came from Cee Lo Green and Gwyneth Paltrow singing Forget You and a tribute to Aretha Franklin including our very own Florence and the Machine.

Critics haven’t been to kind to the widely watched ceremony however, with Hollywood Reporter’s critic saying it was “lousy” and “badly paced” and another calling it, “unpredictable and fragmented.”
