Peaky Blinders stars Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory last night confirmed that they are to return for series two of the BBC Two gangster drama.
The news follows success for both actors at the 27th Festival International de Programmes Audiovisuels. The ceremony took place on Saturday 25th January, in Biarritz, France. Peaky Blinders picked up three awards in the Série category with Cillian Murphy winning the award for Best Actor, and Helen McCrory winning for Best Actress. The third award came in the Best Original Soundtrack category with composer Martin Phipps receiving the honour.
Series two of Peaky Blinders starts shooting next month and will air on BBC Two in autumn 2014. The star-studded cast includes Cillian Murphy as gang leader Thomas Shelby and Helen McCrory as matriarch Aunt Polly, with new characters and cast to be announced. Written and created by the award-winning Steven Knight, the second series will see the Shelby family expand their empire while maintaining a stronghold in their Birmingham heartland.
