Stop the press! Woman with world’s sexiest mouth is to join the cast of Iron Man 3! That’s right comic book fans, hot on the heels of the announcement that Miss Ubiquity (that’s Jessica Chastain to the rest of us) wouldn’t be joining the cast due to scheduling issues, comes the news that Rebecca Hall is in negotiations for the role instead.
There’s still not much news on what the role will entail. We were told previously that it would be a “sexy scientist” as depressingly brief as that news might be. We also speculated that because of Chastain’s red locks she could be a potential love rival to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts (as bland as that storyline might be). But it seems that red hair isn’t a prerequisite, so maybe we got that one wrong.
The cast currently includes Robert Downey Jr., Ben Kingsley, Andy Lau, Guy Pearce and Don Cheadle. The script’s by Shane Black and Drew Pearce with Black looking to start shooting later this month.
Hall was recently seen in above-average supernatural thriller The Awakening and has Stephen Frears’ Lay The Favourite and an untitled legal thriller with Eric Bana in the works.
