Red or Black?, the much-hyped multi-million pound quiz show where contestants can win huge cash prizes, is reportedly going to be axed by ITV after receiving bad ratings for a second time round.
Produced by Simon Cowell and presented by TV legends Ant and Dec, the show handed out £1.5 million over the weekend, the largest cash prize ever handed out on TV in the UK.
However, with only four million people tuning in to see Graham Fletcher win the jackpot, the broadcaster is obviously right to question whether this is money well spent, with the show apparently costing a wallet busting £15 million each series.
The show has not been without controversy either, after the first series was criticised by the Gambling Commission for promoting betting, and contestant Nigel Hageman turned out to be a former offender and was pressured to hand back his money.
Ant and Dec are now said to be keen to leave the show to focus on their more successful shows I’m A Celebrity and Saturday Night Takeaway, having previously spoken of their excitement about the second series.
