Ricky Gervais Show Gets Third Series

Ricky Gervais, Karl Pilkington and Steven Merchant have landed themselves a third series of The Ricky Gervais Show, comissioned by HBO and Channel 4.

Yet more of their award-winning podcasts will be re-cut and animated into half-hour segments, with Ricky promising to record new material for a possible series four.

Head of Comedy at Channel 4, Shane Allen, said: “The Ricky Gervais Show is a proper treat in our schedule. The killer funny cross-examination of Karl’s deranged logic and life philosophies are a perfect fit with the comedy savvy audience of Channel 4.”

Karl Pilkington has been busy exporting his particular brand of humour across the globe, filming a new series of An Idiot Abroad for Sky, with the working title ‘An Idiot Abroad: The Bucket List’.

Speaking on Richard Bacon’s 5 Live radio show, he said: “It’s travelling again and doing stuff a lot of people want to do before they die. I don’t get the concept. It’s that thing of if you’re dying are you in the mood to do anything?”
