Renamed from its previous title of Gently Down The Stream, The Big Wedding will see Bobby D opposite Diane Keaton as they play Don and Ellie Griffin, a long-divorced couple who pretend they’re still married for the sake of their adopted son’s forthcoming nuptials.
It won’t be the first time that De Niro and Keaton have worked together. They were both in The Godfather: Part II (although not on screen at the same time as they belonged to two distinct parts of the narrative) and more recently Marvin’s Room in 1996.
Kathryn Heigl (hopefully utilising her considerable talents rather than rehashing predictable romcom schtick) and Amanda Seyfried (most likely adopting the same role she’s played 15,000 times before) are also set to star, though in what capacity we don’t know yet.
Shooting begins in July.
