Robert Pattinson For Mission: Blacklist

Robert Pattinson is clearly unafraid to move past his Twilight pigeonhole into more interesting projects as he’s just been cast as the lead in Jean-Stephane Sauvaire’s Mission: Blacklist.

Working from a script by Band Of Brothers writer-producer Erik Jendresen, and adapted from Eric Maddox’s book Mission Black List #1, the film will focus on the hunt for Saddam Hussein who was eventually captured in 2003 before being executed in 2006. Maddox has a unique insight as he was the lead interrogator who led the hunt for Hussein and as such he’ll likely end up as a consultant on the movie.

It’s on sale at Cannes this month, which is good timing as Pattinson will also be there to promote David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis which is still awaiting a UK release date.

Pattinson of course will next be seen in the concluding film of the Twilight series – Breaking Dawn: Part 2 which is due out here on November 16th.
