David Michod’s debut feature Animal Kingdom was one of our favourite films of last year, so it’s exciting news that he appears to be building quite an impressive cast for his follow up Rover with Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce (who was also in AK) signing on to co-star. Rover is the brainchild of Michod and Animal Kingdom star Joel Edgerton and finds a man (Pearce) tracking a group of car thieves (which includes Pattinson) when they steal his wheels in the outback.
Sigh. When are people going to learn? Don’t mess with Guy Pearce, he’ll mess you up right back.
It’s been a busy week for Pattinson who was anounced for Mission: Blacklist yesterday and will be starring in David Cronenberg’s drama Cosmopolis which launches at Cannes later this month. And of course, there’s the concluding part of the Twilight franchise, Breaking Dawn which will be out in November.
Pearce meanwhile has a role in Prometheus and is getting ready for John Hillcoat’s prohibition drama Lawless. He’ll also be donning his white coat as a scientist in Iron Man 3 which kicks off shooting soon.
