Despite it sounding like Robert Zemeckis is out for revenge against Gnomeo & Juliet following the poor performance of Mars Needs Moms, he’s not about to undertake a campaign of horticultural terrorism, he’s simply attached to produce How To Survive A Garden Gnome Attack.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the book, by Chuck Sambuchino, is in the process of being optioned by Sony Pictures Animation. It’s described as a “comprehensive survival guide that will help you prevent, prepare for and ward off an imminent home invasion by the common garden gnome. Once thought of as harmless yard decorations, evidence is mounting that these smiling lawn statues are poised and ready to wreck havoc.”
No screenwriter or director listed for this one yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
