Julia Roberts has had trouble living up to the high standards she set for herself early in her career. With films like Eat, Pray, Loveand Valentine’s Day failing to meet expectations hopefully she can return to glory with her latest project, comedy Second Act.
The film is still in its early stages of development, without a writer or director attached, but a few plot details are known. It will see Roberts as a woman who has never worked a day in her life looking for employment. She will be producing via her Red Om Films company, along with her former agent Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas. New Regency will be covering production costs once things get going.
Earlier this year, Roberts appeared in Larry Crowne opposite Tom Hanks and already scheduled for next year is her upcoming role as the Evil Queen in Snow White reimaginingMirror Mirror. 2012 could see Roberts returning to the prominence she enjoyed in the late 90s and early 2000s, when she appeared in every other movie that came out.
