Russell Brand is slated to star in and produce the upcoming Warner Bros. comedy The President Stole My Girlfriend.
Despite box office failure of Arthur, the studio is trusting Brand and his production company Branded Films to develop the script written by Matt Portenoy, who also contributed to the upcoming Farrelly brothers’ collection Movie 43.
Regarding the plot, not many details have surfaced but Brand told The Hollywood Reporter that “it was inspired by the night I naively invited [Warner Brothers president] Jeff Robinov for dinner.” Presumably, Robinov wooed Brand’s lady at the time.
Brand is also featured in the upcoming films Rock of Ages and Lamb of God.
