Black Swan director, Darren Aronofsky, will embark on new project, Noah, just as soon as he has secured a lead man of Biblical proportions….and he wants Crowe.
Both Paramount and New Regency are set to provide finance for the project, and both companies are feverishly attempting to nail the Gladiator star to the project in time for filming to begin in July.
Aronofsky and Ari Handel wrote the original draft of the script, with Hugo’s John Logan brought in to buff things up.
There have so far been no hints at Aronofsky’s exact take on the story, but Noah is sure to be some kind of nature-lover who is disappointed by the way the planet is being abused. Whether the final version will include a large ark and animals entering it in a 2×2 formation is still up for debate….
If Crowe agrees to star, he will be adding to an already formidable heap of work including Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables, Harker and the villainous role in Akiva Goldsman’s take on A Winter’s Tale.
He’ll next be seen in the subtly named, The Man With The Iron Fists, then Les Mis and Broken City.
