Sally Bercow, speakerâs wife and agent provocateur, is welcome to return to Channel 5 according to station boss Jeff Ford.
Bercow first appeared in the 2011 series of Celebrity Big Brother (to the horror of husband John) and went on to star in spin-off When Paddy Met Sally, with former housemate Paddy Doherty.
Mr Ford said the reality-style show, which saw Mrs Bercow live alongside Doherty on a travellers’ site, was “great”.
At a Broadcasting Press Guild meeting, he said: “I’m sure we’ll be doing other things and possibly this year with Sally. Her and Paddy, that show, just did so well, it connected so well, it would be an absolute mistake for us not to.”
On 3 February 2011 she attracted criticism for using her husband’s position to boost her public image after she appeared in the Evening Standard wearing but a bed sheet while staring provocatively towards the House of Commons. No mean feat in itself.
Mrs Bercow, who has also appeared on The Wright Stuff on Channel 5, has a column in the Daily Star Sunday which she recently defended as all her won writing. She tweeted that her column was ââ¦not ghost written. Not ever.â?
She told a fringe event at last year’s Labour conference that her time in the Big Brother house had been “a blast” and has maintained that she is âvery proudâ? off all she has participated in. Bed sheets included.
Bercow also claims that the main reason she entered the BB house was to raise £100,000 for Ambitious about Autism, a charity for children with autism, of which she and Mr Bercow are parent patrons.
One of their three children, seven-year-old son Oliver, is autistic.
We are hoping that an Osmonds style At Home With The Bercows series might be on the cards for the apparently polar pair. Letâs hope they last that longâ¦
