Despite receiving a mixed reception from viewers and critics alike (we thought it was alright… you thought it was ‘crap’) Robert Popper’s Friday Night Dinner will be returning for a second series after the first run averaged two million viewers per episode.
The comedy revolves around two young men – played by Simon Bird and Tom Rosenthal – that return home to see thier parents for dinner every friday night (as the title suggests).
When asked about the second series, Popper said: “I am so happy to be making a second series of Friday Night Dinner for Channel 4. I can’t wait to get writing in the same small room again for eight months, talking to myself at regular intervals and eating far too many biscuits.”
We’re happy you’re happy Robert.
