Sky have announced today that Roughcut TV will be producing a new sitcom called Trollied for Sky 1 HD.
Set in the fictional âValcoâ supermarket in the North West, the show will take a setting with which we are all familiar and deliver a comedy twist looking at the lives of bored kids on the checkouts, ineffectual managers and irate customers.
Executive producer Ash Atalla (The Office, The IT Crowd) has gathered an all-star cast including Jane Horrocks , Mark Addy (pictured), Jason Watkins and Rita May.
Lucy Lumsden, Head Of Comedy at Sky, said: âTrollied is the first of a number of brand new British comedies for Sky and weâre extremely excited by the talent around the show, on and off screen.â?
Her enthusiasm was echoed by Sky 1 HDâs Director of Programmes Stuart Murphy, who added: âTrollied is a fantastic example of the aspirations we have for comedy on Sky 1 HD. I am delighted that our comedy output is increasing and that weâre firmly establishing Sky as the home of great British comedy.â?
Trollied will air on Sky 1 HD from July 2011.
