After losing her job at a fast-food restaurant and learning that her husband has been unfaithful, Melissa McCarthy’s Tammy returns home to find her husband enjoying a romantic meal with the neighbour. After being denied the use of her mother’s car, Tammy decides hits the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother, Pearl (Susan Sarandon).
Grandma Pearl soon proves that despite her diabetes she’s still quite the drinker, and Tammy quickly turns into the “baby-sitter.” From finding love in a bar to robbing a Toppy Jack’s in order to bail Pearl out of jail, this quirky adventure looks extremely promising.
Tammy is released in UK cinemas on July 4th 2014
