First Look: The Revolution Will Be Televised

Returning to the BBC, The Revolution Will Be Televised promises seriously tasty bite-sized comedy hits. From fictionalised characters to ballsy stunt-led sketches, this series brings corruption, greed and hypocrisy to the fore.

Politicians, avaricious multinationals and tax-shy corporations who have been taking the British public for a ride for years are now on the receiving end.

In their previous efforts, pranksters Jolyon Rubinstein and Heydon Prowse have:

– Gatecrashed the Lib Dem conference in Newcastle…and then tried to come out at the LGBT stall
– Run with the Occupy movement in full Kevlar
– Organised a night of torture and humiliation at the M16 building for some Amsterdam fetishist clubbers
– Gotten George Osborne to pose with a GCSE maths revision guide

The BBC described Series 1 thus: “In the great tradition of mischief-makers like Michael Moore, Mark Thomas and Dom Joly, Heydon Prowse and Jolyon Rubinstein bash a variety of arrogant, puffed-up people over the head with an inflated pig’s bladder, on behalf of anyone who has stared open-mouthed at the arrogance, hypocrisy, corruption and greed of politicians, avaricious multi-nationals and tax-shy billionaires. Now it’s their turn to be outraged, deceived, inconvenienced and humiliated.”
