Earlier this year, The Walking Dead made American TV history by drawing 7.3 million viewers for their second series premiere. Now, the zombie shootâem-up has been named Sundayâs top-rated cable drama for the 18-49 demographic.
With an audience of 6.6 million watching this weekend, The Walking Dead is easily the most popular programme on Sundays and has found wild success this season despite the departure of showrunner Frank Darabont earlier this year.
This weekendâs episode, âPretty Much Dead Alreadyâ, marked the final installment for the first half of this series. Luckily, it seems that we can expect more twists like the one in this last episode (spoiler alert: it turns out theyâre all living in purgatory⦠just kidding) in the second half of the series which begins in February.
As executive Robert Kirkman told Entertainment Weekly, âthereâs going to be a lot of aftermath dealing with the shocking revelation and thereâs going to be a lot of crazy new stuff thrown into the mix.â? He also promised the introduction of some new characters in the first episode back.
The Walking Dead has still got audiences on the edge of their seats and we wonât be surprised if it continues to break records with its return.
