Cinematic western Hell on Wheels returns for a third series in 2014 starring Anson Mount, Colm Meaney, US rapper and actor Common, and new leading lady, Jennifer Ferrin. Series Three will takes you back to the Wild West in 1867. After seeking revenge on the soldiers who killed his wife and spending a stir-crazy winter alone, Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) heads to New York in the hope of capitalizing on the new railway opportunities of America.
Bohannon must contend with racism, greed and murder whilst single-mindedly leading the Union Pacific railway across the country in a tense race against rivals, Central Pacific Railroad. The new series also introduces new western belle, Louise Ellison (The Following’s Jennifer Ferrin), a determined reporter sent out to cover the building of the transcontinental railroad. Disconnected from New York, she soon learns how wild the west really is.
Colm Meaney returns as Thomas “Doc” Durant, a greedy entrepreneur who intends to take full advantage during the times of change, and Common, who plays Elam Ferguson, an emancipated slave striving for freedom.
