The hosting duo will make the move to the new Sunday morning show in March when their current contract with the BBC comes to the end of its six year run.
So far, no mention that former female co-host, Louise Redknapp, will be joining the pair. Surely the lads must be devastated?
“We’re chuffed to be joining Channel 4,” Lovejoy and Rimmer said in a statement. “We have a great laugh working together and we’re very pleased we can continue that in our new home.”
C4 bosses seem confident that the pair will deliver ‘wit, chat and banter’ alongside the generous serving of celebrity guests offered by their new Sunday morning project.
Channel 4’s head of formats Dominic Bird, who commissioned the programme, added: “Simon and Tim have brilliant on screen chemistry and their partnership will be at the heart of Sunday Brunch. They’re a great fit for Channel 4 and we can’t wait to get going on the new show.”
The show will be produced by Princess Productions. Funny that, because that same production company were reported to have already been in talks with ITV about a chatty weekend repalcement for the axed BBC show.
Could we be about to see a Sunday morning ratings war of X Factor vs. Strictly proportions?
