Everyoneâs favourite snaggle-toothed actor, Timothy Spall, will appear in the BBCâs upcoming lottery drama.
The Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and Harry Potter star will head the cast of the The Syndicate, a brand new five-part drama.
Presumably inspired by the recent syndicate winners from an Asda in Greater Manchester, the programme will follow the a supermarket syndicate who narrowly escape redundancy as a result of their massive win.
Written by Kay Mellor (Fat Friends, The Chase), The Syndicate will also star Gavin and Staceyâs Joanna Page and Lark Rise to Candlefordâs Matthew McNulty.
Now those are some big money balls.
Speaking about The Syndicate Kay says: âI was inspired to write it after a friend of mine was told she was losing her job. With a mortgage to pay and outstanding debts her only hope was to win the lottery.
âIt made me think how many people were thinking the same. As cuts hit hard weâre left with only a dream of six numbered balls deciding our fate â what strange times we are living in! Itâs both funny and tragic; a perfect recipe for great drama.â?
And itâs coming to our screens in 2012.
