Tomb Raider Getting A Reboot

Jolie 300The Tomb Raider movie franchise, which thus far is famous for two things: Angelina Jolie in revealing costumes and being rubbish, is getting a reboot from writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby.

The duo, who recently wrote Cowboys and Aliens, Iron Man and Children of Men, have been hired by GK Films after the company picked up the rights from computer games titans Eidos.

Producer Graham King said: “We are very excited to be rebooting what is already a hugely successful film franchise and continuing the Tomb Raider phenomenon.”

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider came out in 2001 and its sequel Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life emerged two years later in 2003. The new film – which will presumably involve a totally different cast – has no date for production as of yet.
