Transformers Six To Be Based On Tolstoy’s War And Peace

transformers-300x210Director Micheal Bay has revealed that the plot of Transformers Six, scheduled for release in 2015, will be based on Leo Tolstoy’s epic novel War and Peace.

The tome, of which Tolstoy himself said “it is not a novel, even less is it a poem, and still less a historical chronicle,” has been called ‘unfilmable’. Bay said that he saw the task of bringing War and Peace to the screen as a “worthy challenge for the Transformers franchise.”

“It has long been a favourite of mine, and the [Transformers] factions of warring robots always, for me, held similarities to the clash between Napoleon’s army and the Russian forces in the book.”

The five Russian families, the Bezukhovs, the Bolkonskys, the Rostovs, the Kuragins and the Drubetskoys, will be represented by a new ensemble cast including Tina Fey and Sir Micheal Winner. It is thought that Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley and Shia Le Boef will reprise their roles, but, as the equivalent of War and Peace‘s protagonists Anna Pavlovna and Prince Andrei Nikolayevich Bolkonsky.

Megan Fox has not been approached.
