Tudors Star Jonathan Rhys Meyers In Suicide Bid

Troubled TV star Jonathan Rhys-Meyers has been taken to hospital after a suspected suicide attempt. The actor who played Henry VIII in The Tudors is believed to have downed pills in his £3million home and was taken away by ambulance.

According to The Sun, paramedics answering a 999 call found Meyers slumped on the floor, but they had to call police after he refused treatment at the scene for more than 30 minutes.

“This is very sad,” a source stated rather obviously, before going on to explain that… “It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life.”

Meyers, who has had problems with drink in the past, was released from hospital in Maida Vale yesterday morning after being admitted on Tuesday night, but had nothing to say to the press.

“I saw the ambulance arriving and was worried to death,” a neighbour told the tabloid. “Jonathan is a lovely guy. You see him all the time in the street. He says hello and is very pleasant. I hope he is fine.”

The Irish-born actor recently completed his fifth stint in rehab, but has admitted to being ‘like Bambi’ on the drink in the past.
