Two and a Half Men Sign Kutcher For Just A Year

It appears the US network CBS are hedging their bets on Two and a Half Men newby Ashton Kutcher with news that Charlie Sheen’s replacement has reportedly signed just a year’s contract with the show.

CBS has only got a year left to go with the series and so have signed Kutcher up for this, at a paltry-by-comparison $750,000 per episode deal (Sheen, who was also a producer was taking home £2 million each episode) the wall Street Journal reports.

At the end of this run they will either have to renegotiate Kutcher’s deal, probably earning the actor an even heftier paycheck if he proves popular in the role, or recast.

Sources close to the series indicate that CBS is working towards a couple more seasons before calling it quits. Audiences’ inclination to tune in to a Sheen-less Men show will most likely dictate the show’s future from this point on though.
