Waking The Dead could return for a festive special, series star Wil Johnson has said.
Johnson, who played DI Spencer Jordan, has revealed that the cast are soon to get together for a social event and to discuss plans for the upcoming special.
The police drama – which starred Trevor Eve, Sue Johnston and Wil – was cancelled after nine series despite attracting audiences of up to 9.5 million.
He told The Sun: “There is talk of doing a Christmas special. I wouldn’t be surprised if we do – there’s such a demand for it.
“I miss being on the set because it was a quality show to work on. A great cast, great guest artists who came in and wonderful directors – that’s rare.”
News of a special comes off the back of the axing of spin-off flop, The Body Farm, and is expected to feature all our favourite WTD characters back together again.
A source told TV Biz: “The problem with axing something then realising you’ve made a mistake is that everyone gets new jobs, making it difficult to get everyone back together.
“But a Christmas Special would thrill fans and could lead to another series.”
Eek!
