With filming well underway on season two of The Walking Dead, AMC has released two production stills to raise the showâs profile prior to its autumn release.
They donât exactly give away any major plot developments, unless AMC is trying to subtly tell us everyone is dead and the next season will simply be random shots of zombies milling about. However, thatâs highly unlikely as the showâs producers have already confirmed there will be at least three new (human) characters.
Series creator (and Shawshank screenwriter) Frank Darabont also issued a statement to tell us how much he loves everyone involved in his show:
âAt this moment, Iâm standing on a stretch of post-apocalypse interstate in Georgia, littered with abandoned cars and blessing my good luck to be reunited with our amazing cast, and our fantastic directors and crew. Across the board, there are none better. Itâs great to be shooting again. I think weâve embarked on a great season.â?
The first shot is reminiscent of the last day of a festival; everyone has dead eyes (most likely from taking too many pills, powders and alcohol) and appears to be trudging towards what Iâm going to assume is a car park. In fact, considering the sights often seen during some festivals these âzombiesâ are in pretty good nick.
The second is more like Zombie deliverance, although if you look closely, it kind of looks as if theyâre waiting for you to catch up. Perhaps these are helpful zombies, showing the survivors from the first season how to get through their secret zombie pass to safety.
