War Horse Heads Race For Oscars

It’s that time of year again.

The big guns of Hollywood are getting ready to battle it out for a coveted Academy Award award and the rumour mill begins to turn its gigantic cogs…now!

The front-runner for Best Picture at the 2012 awards is War Horse.

This emotional film tells the story of Albert and his horse, Joey, whose intense bond is broken when Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War One. Albert follows and heartbreak ensues.

A panel of movie critics and industry insiders have listed their top picks on a website and the first Oscars race odds appear to favour War Horse over George Clooney films The Descendants, due to be released early next year and The
Ides of March, released next month.

Also making the cut in the first Academy Awards Best Picture list are The Artist, J. Edgar, summer hit The Help, Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Brad Pitt films Moneyball and The Tree of Life.
